Attanagalla Magistrate has ordered to suspend the driving licence of Gampaha District MP Upeksha Swarnamali's driver, for six months.
The order was issued after the suspect was produced before court after MP Swarnamali's jeep collided with the trishaw in Veyangoda.
The Magistrate also ordered him to pay a cash bail of Rs. 5,000 and two sureties amounting to Rs. 100,000 each.The magistrate further ordered him to appear before court on Jan. 25, 2015.
Meanwhile, the driver of deputy minister Neomal Perera, who was arrested following a separate road accident, has been released on two sureties of Rs. 5,000 by the Awissawella Magistrate courts.
The trishaw driver, injured in the accident was ordered to pay a cash bail of Rs. 10,000. He is currently receiving treatment at the Awissawella Base Hospital.
The deputy minister's jeep had collided with a trishaw in the Minnana area in Eheliyagoda.
