Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa and SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga assured their full cooperation in smooth governance of SLC to fulfill the country's aspiration of winning the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
In a press release, Sports Ministry yesterday said that the two top administrators of the cricket's governing body in Sri Lanka have met the Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage at the Ministry yesterday and assured their commitment towards making the World Cup dream a reality.
The release further states, smooth communication between SLC chairman and secretary has been hindered due to administration and management problems in the recent past. Both Dharmadasa and Ranatunga have promised to eradicate these short comings and work towards the betterment of the sport during their lengthy discussion with the Sports Minister.
The Sports Minister has pledged his faith on SLC's administrative and management system where the decisions taken by the chairman and Executive Committee facilitated the good governance of the sport. He recommended the continuation of prevailing administration and management mechanism without interruption to SLC's efficiency. According to the press release the amalgamations and decisions made at the meeting were to be informed at yesterday's SLC Ex-Co meeting.
